Navigrafia provides writers and sailors of all levels with a wholly original and customized travel experience that draws on the power of the ocean to inspire creativity, confidence and adventure.

Each adventure is four days long with a maximum of four paying customers per journey. Customers board the boat the evening prior to the journey. The journey ends midday on the fourth day. 

Activities during the four days of sailing will be customized based on the group’s interests and needs as well as weather conditions. Each day will consist of dedicated writing time as well as travel experiences to inspire and guide the writing experience. We will anchor the boat at several of the San Juan Islands for hiking, tours of small towns, biking, shopping and other activities. Clients may opt to have dinner on an island, rather than on board, and they may also seek land accommodations on their own if they wish.

The writing experience will be adapted to the needs and desires of each set of clients. Some examples of creative writing activities include manuscript consultation, small-group workshop, discussion of shared reading, journaling, guided writing exercises, experience-based writing exercises, planning/goal setting, and designated writing and reflection times. Clients may participate in as much or as little of the writing experience as they wish.

Clients dictate the level to which they wish to participate in captain-supervised sailing. Safety, however, is a key priority, and this influences how the sailing experience is tailored.

Breakfast and lunches are provided. We will have 1 night anchored, where we provide dinner on board. Other dinners will be on land, or on board at a marina.
